12/13/13 Eight Weeks

The puppies turned eight weeks old on Monday, Dec. 9, and celebrated with a trip to the vet.  They weighed in at 4.7 (grizzle boy), 3.6 (blue boy), 3.7 (grizzle girl), 3.12 (blue girl #1) and 3.9 (blue girl #2). They all had a thorough exam, first shots, and microchip implant, and they all were very brave.  Yesterday, they tried on their collars, which proved to be a VERY itchy experience!  They also got to chew on some raw, frozen rib bones.  Loved that!  I can't believe they will be leaving us in a couple of weeks.  What wonderful little pups they are!

12/2/13 Seven weeks old today!

The pups now think they're big dogs and protest loudly when they have to go back in their pen in the kitchen.  They think they're big enough to run with the pack!  They love their toys.  They are doing quite well with the litter box, at least with solid waste!  It makes for an easy morning clean up!  They are eating food that is now only coarsely ground in the blender.  Today, I started adding some plain Greek yogurt and they love it.  These are such happy, loving puppies.  We are enjoying them so much.

Sweet little blue boy!  He's starting to catch up, both physically and developmentally.  Last week, he was still sleeping a lot.  This week, he's practicing his hunting and fighting moves.  

OK, albeit very cute, that puppy fuzz on #1 boy is coming out soon!

Shaggy big boy met with a little grooming last night!  He looks like a grown up  border terrier now! 

Still need to finish his feet. He was having no more of it last night.

11/25/13 Six Weeks Today

Four of the five were on board for this little photo shoot.  The grizzle girl, however, is all over the place!  At least, she got in step for the final photo.  In order, left to right, Blue Girl #4, Blue Boy, Blue Girl #5, Grizzle Boy, and Grizzle Girl wandering about in the back!

11/21/13 Five Weeks

The pups now spend the entire day in the kitchen.  They think they can run with the "big" dogs, but so far, they've only run with Mom.  They have a duplex set up, complete with a tunnel, two litter boxes (one up and one down) and LOTS of toys!  They're  still sleeping in the whelping box in the office, at least until they're six weeks old.
